Phenomenon Serendipity--Ideas, Notes, and Others
This is about the crossover I am working on. Here are the ideas and notes I wrote. Please, no bad comments. I would love your positive criticism.
Remember Square Enix was involved of Kingdom Hearts? And the characters like Sora was from Final Fantasy (NOT REALLY) and there were some characters from FF such as Squall, Cid, Aerith, Yuffie, and Cloud. Well, I wondered which media could crossover with anime and it was hard to say: I was caught between suda51 and Shin Megami Tensei. But there was No More Heroes and Travis so I thought: “OK, My main girl is going to meet Travis Touchdown. And maybe for once, the guy can cool it with the F bombs and other strong languages.” But I didn’t want him to sound kiddish of the cursing. I don’t know, this is just my idea and this is a ‘T Rated’ Project. Y’know what I mean? The warriors in my story are female but I didn’t want it to be just a shojo-like. I mean, with many girls, it was hard to say but there was some names I had to find and it was tough. There are some males in the story that are warriors too. But don’t call me a sexist, I am writing from a girl’s point of view. Just because I am doing that; doesn’t mean I have to do it about fanservice and it irks me to see that some animes have that. I don’t blame them but I just want to add something different besides the fanservice.
For my crossover, I was inspired and cited on was a lot of things. But mostly these ones did: The first one was Sucker Punch, a 2011 action and fantasy flick. Some people said it was a good movie and not really awesome. But I thought it was so cool. Seeing those girls kick ass and really know how to fight. The second was Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. This was one of my older brother’s favorite animes as a kid and I love it too because of the characters and the story line. It was really that interesting….I saw the movie, actually not the series but the movie made me want to watch the series. The third was Tank Girl: A crazy, cool heroine who wears a helmet and saving the world from an evil bad guy. Tank Girl is witty and badass as I want one of my characters, Sylver Eden, to be like her in the crossover. Sylver starts off as a non-fighter but she looked up to people like Ichigo, Eren, Briar, Maggie, Shinsengumi, Levi, etc. It was really crazy for her to take a level in badass finally by an adrenaline serum that will turn her into a zany, reality warping super girl. And last but not least was PTSD: Some of my characters should have this because they are tormented by their past. Now, they must confront their personal demons and let go of the pain.
Oh boy, the title for my crossover was a real doozy for me. Originally I called my crossover “Double Walker”. My original storyline was that the main character had a twin sister who was evil and sadistic but once the heroine took down her twin, the evil sister is redeemed and becomes anew. That didn’t work too well because the stories in it weren’t that great. I had to make my main girl pull a trick, pretending to be a traitor in order to defeat her twin in between the story. I thought Double Walker was such a lame title and sounded so babyish and I had different types of ideas and I changed the story line many times. I still hated the title. So while I worked on a different story and looked up words that I loved, “phenomenon” and “serendipity”. That’s when I had an idea! I put the two together and thus, Phenomenon Serendipity was born!
Hmm….Hard to say but I finally realize what they are because I wasn’t sure. Now I know. There are ___ themes that are shared before you:
The first is tribute and inspiration: A few of the characters meet these interesting people and are eventually inspired so as tribute to those that helped them find their identity; this leads them to create something like a quote that always said or something that person so that the characters would do that to let that person know that they have done so much for them and want to give something back in return for their gratitude. The second is empathy and similarity: Everyone in this crossover is different and intact but look closely, you’ll find a commonality to them. Their pasts, their personalities and what they are colored them in this crossover. The third is happiness: This crossover is first introduced with happiness but then tragedy comes along and takes away that happiness. Then it circles around and around again. Ignore that for a second, observe on how some people forget on how horrible the world is cruel and how blood is shed so much. They just want to find happiness and they do, in friendship but in family and love as well.
When I was in 10th to 11th grade; we had to do a Power Point on religion. A kid in my class did one on Norse mythology. I was introduced to these ‘angels’ called Valkyrie. The Valkyries came down from a Heaven called Valhalla and took the fallen heroes there. In the heavenly sunlight; Briar, Chloe, Randi, Maggie, Tilda, B.V., and Marina have lighter and vivid fair haired which is related to their Valkyrie hybrid. This idea came to me as an inside joke: My mother once told me that in the light, my hair looks lighter and I always told her that it didn’t. It was weird, funny enough when I was a kid I had a bit of blonde hair. I have no idea why people would say that I have blonde or lighter hair. I mean I thought I did but it was a lot darker. But I might be wrong, I scarcely remembered. Anyway; The heaven’s light gives these girls others a shock as they ponder if they are angels or not.

Phenomenon Serendipity--Music Soundtrack
The playlist soundtrack for my crossover. Nice isn't it? Enjoy! --KatDon
1. Sweet Dreams Are Made Out of This
I like the slow versions, not the original one--It sounds too fast but, everyone has different taste. Slow versions sound more ballad and a way to disperse pain.
2. Panic Switch
Don't you love this song? The intensity, it's from the Sucker Punch trailer. Wished it had been in the movie, it sounds awesome.
3. Anti You
Love the beat, the chorus is gritty and passionate.
4. Dark Horse
Not big on Juicy J, but wouldn't this be perfect for Karneval?
5. Neon Lights
I can imagine Tsukumo's performance while listening to this.
6. Rise and Fall
Krewella is awesome, hearing this song makes me think of Briar when she is enraged
7. How You Remind Me
Emotional ballad, perfect for anyone who has gone through hell and need a reason
8. Bad Reputation
Maggie don't give a damn, she's a tough girl
9. Where is My Mind?
Have we all go mad? The main characters had, but it's not their fault--Blame the scum that put them through this terror
10. Save the World
A hero's theme, heroes always come to the rescue
11. Titanium
Powerful, strong--Perfect 'lady jam' for a girl who has
12. Ten Feet Tall
Would this be nice for Attack on Titan?
13. We Go Down
Teamwork is everything! Right?
14. Let Me Go
Avril and her husband, Chad. They go together like ham and cheese. But the best part when Lola is about to take her own life, Jean convinced her to step back and continue to live--which works.
15. Shatter Me
Lzzy's singing, Lindsey's violins...A wonderful song! It makes Briar wanting to break free from her pain. And thanks to Eren and his powers, she is able to break free for awhile!
16. Army of Me
Don't mess with anyone, they will take on anyone who brings harm to anybody or anything; it would turn out bad.
